#1089: shutdown hangs on Intel NUC

 I have an Intel NUC dual-booting PC-BSD and Windows 8. Under Windows 8, a
shutdown or restart works as expected. Under PC-BSD 9.2 and 10.0, it
hangs. The screen goes black and there are no messages. I've tested this
under KDE, Gnome and at the command-line through a remote login.

I have been following the forum entry regarding USB disks and hangs, but,
as I've posted there, I don't have any USB disks. I've also removed my
USB keyboard and mouse during the remote reboot experiments.

So, I think this is something specific to PC-BSD and the Intel NUC.

 Thank you for your help.
