      Type: System | Milestone:
  Defect | Version: 9.2-RELEASE
Priority: critical | Keywords: grub, boot, slow, slow boot,
Component: System | loader, install, 9.2 release
  Configuration |
Resolution: |

Comment (by tobiastheviking):

Oh, also, all of the following commands specifically gives long load
 times:

 kfreebsd

 kfreebsd_module

 kfreebsd_module_elf (Depending on module size).

So cutting down on the freebsd kernel modules loaded by grub will also
 make the boot faster.

Not a solution, but worth doing while the bug persists.

Setting the kFreeBSD.vfs parameter takes no time at all, even with slow
 grub.
