 Wanted to update that I've experimented with RC2 settings in PC-BSD
 Control Panel and got the sound to work. The setting for sound chosen by
 install was *wrong* ... when I set it to pcm0 the sound started to work.
 I'm not sure how to close this ticket ... or change the title to 'solved'
 ... nevertheless the team might want to look over the installation choice
 for this. It chose "pcm4: <Intel Cougar Point (HDMI/DP 8ch)> (play)" and
 perhaps should have chosen "pcm0: <Conexant CX20590 (Analog)> (play/rec)
 default" ... since that is what made it work. Cheers!
