Comment:

 Check that the VirtualBox networking is configured for a bridged adapter:
 http://wiki.pcbsd.org/index.php/Using_VirtualBox#Configuring_the_Network_Adapter.

 When using DHCP, a greyed out screen indicates that DHCP did not
 automatically get a lease. Instructions on how to proceed can be found in
 http://wiki.pcbsd.org/index.php/Installation_Troubleshooting#Network_Installation_Fails.
