#645: ASUS Xonar DX (PCI Express 1x sound card) not recongnised
-------------------------+---------------------------------------------
Reporter: Boug | Type: System Defect
Status: new | Priority: major
Milestone: | Component: System Configuration
Version: 9.0-RELEASE | Keywords: ASUS Xonar DX sound card driver
-------------------------+---------------------------------------------
I've just installed PC-BSD 9.0 x86 and at the end of the boot time, with
all the tex ouput, the kernel shows me a message that says : "no
recognised sound card" or something very similar.
The sound card is an ASUS Xonar DX (PCI Express 1x) and of course, it
works under Windows or Linux (tested), but not under FreeBSD 9.0. There's
apparently no driver for it. Maybe it uses a PCI-PCI Express bridge and
that would be the reason for it to not working? I don't know.
I join a file containing some "lspci -v" output, I'm not sure that the
line containing "PLX Technology, Inc. PEX8112 x1 Lane PCI Express-to-PCI
Bridge (rev aa)" is linked to this sound card, but the line containing
"Multimedia audio controller: C-Media Electronics Inc CMI8788 [Oxygen HD
Audio]" is!
