Hello
I am unable to install the 9.0 release. It appears that it's not
detecting or rejecting the USB keyboard and USB mouse, as well as
complaining that the install image is not found and cannot be mounted.
I have ruled out a bad install image. I tried with the 64 bit DVD Full and
the 64 bit Live images. I also downloaded them from different mirror sites
using two different computers. DVD images were also burned using two
different PC's. I then went and downloaded the 64 bit USBFULL and 64 bit
USB Live images and created two bootable USB flash drives.
In every case, either with the DVD or USB images, the boot starts off
fine, goes about the business of detecting devices, but once it gets to
the USB ports, it seems to go bonkers after detecting them. I managed to
capture what is happening on the console. I tried the Normal, AHCI,
Verbose and boot to console - all fail the exact same way.
Here is what is happening, this starts just before the errors appear::

====
At this point all I can do is power off or reboot, as the keyboard is
useless. I have tried several wired and wireless keyboards, tried every
USB port and the results are always the same as above. I even tried
disabling the on-board USB and tried using a generic (Rosewill) powered
USB 2.0 PCIE 1x card, and that was not even detected at all.
It does appear that the installer is actually disabling the keyboard and
mouse - one of my keyboards is backlit and when the error messages pop up
the keyboard will go dark.
Also as a FYI, I tried using the PC-BSD 8.2 64 Bit DVD on the same
computer, the install worked perfectly, no errors at all from start to
finish.
This is the system I am trying to install on that it seems like 9.0
doesn't like:
