Thanks for the bug report, that was my bad, fixed it in SVN here:

If you want to try it with the existing snapshot, you can copy that file,
or just make the mods by hand before performing the install.
Also, when you are doing an amd64 install, is the installation actually
fully finishing? I.E. do you get to the GUI screen where you have to click
"finish" and then it reboots? Or are you just coming back later and
finding that the system has automatically rebooted to the DVD again?
I'm asking because I'm seeing an issue here on amd64 on certain chipsets,
where the kernel panics during the install because of DMA write errors,
but on the same system i386 works like a champ. The install will get to
about 98%, then kernel panic and reboot without finishing, and thus no
boot files, which are at the very end of the install archive.
