Comment:

 Interesting.. I installed FreeBSD 8.0 onto another drive of the same
 machine and after restarting both systems showed up as upgradable.
 Upgrading 7.1 worked now OK, the only problem is that FreeBSD (minimal
 installation) was upgraded to full PC-BSD.

 After booting up the upgraded system, some users were reported missing:
 polkit, haldaemon, avahi.
