One addition:
pbidir's VLC package is missing DVB support (enabled by VLC port's OPTIONS
by default) so even if you have the firmware for the device and webcamd
loaded you have no app to watch TV.
It's possible to watch TV with VLC, mplayer (with V4L enabled in OPTIONS),
and kaffeine.
But you still need to have a channels.conf which can be downloaded for
your region or created with multimedia/w_scan. w_scan is CLI only, so a
GUI frontend would be very helpful. Doesn't need to do a lot, just ask the
user for which country it should scan and write the channels.conf to
~/.mplayer and create a VLC shortcut which calls 'vlc ~/channels.conf'.
