#308: freeze during boot from da0 after install
 Reporter:  navratil        |       Owner:
     Type: System Defect | Status: new
 Priority:  critical        |   Milestone:
Component: System Tool | Version: 8.1-BETA1
 Keywords:  da0 boot fstab  |

Comment(by kris):

 Yea, this looks like its failing because the "da0" device is being
 detected *after* trying to mount the root has already failed. You can try
 entering "ufs:da0s1a" or "ufs:da0p2" at the mountroot prompt, does that
 make it boot up the rest of the way?

 I think this is a known issue with FBSD 8.x though at the moment, the USB
 init doesn't take place soon enough in the boot process.
