 Think again. Not only, does the DVD pass, but like in my 1st post the md5
 sum matches when I do:

 cat /dev/acd0 > xx.iso

 then a

 head -c 3648724992 xx.iso > yy.iso

 MD5 (yy.iso) = f51fb7b78d4f9483840d0e51fe34dd66

 I won't be able to tell you until I get home and try it, but I bet it
 installs flawlessly on the pc I have at home and don't forget the i386 DVD
 also installs flawlessly on this machine.
