Well, that explains it all :)
The seek-failed errors seem to indicate a problem reading from the DVD
during the file-extraction phase. I bet if you do an install, and run the
command "dmesg" afterwards before rebooting, you'll see all kinds of
kernel messages about read failures. I'm thinking this means we have a bad
disk / drive. When you boot the install DVD, and let it do the full
integrity check does it pass?
