 This issue is not only about the noise, but also the effect of
 installation speed. Due to this effect, pretty straightforward step takes
 a lot of time.

 Macbook Pro, I just inserted installation DVD and let it run, at first the
 modules are loaded, like  zfs.ko nullfs.ko opensolaris.ko zlib.ko etc. And
 loading looks like this:
 1. the name module is displayed
 2. the disc is slowing down
 3. after a second it is speeding up
 4. it is slowing down again (!)
 5. repeat steps 3-4, 2 or 3 times
 6. goto 1

 Normally I would get entire live system up and running in the time
 required to load those modules.
