 Thanks for the report.

 This will need to be directed to the FreeBSD acpi devs though, since this
 sounds like a problem in the underlying system. If you can, go ahead and
 post this info over to the acpi list:

 http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-acpi

 Just mention that you are on freebsd 8.0-release, and be sure to include
 the "dmesg" output from your system. Hopefully one of the acpi guys can
 give you some tweaks to make it perform better, or they can figure out
 what hardward you have, and write a fix for it :)
