Sometimes the sound-driver is too smart for its own good, and it'll try
using a digital output port, like Optical / RCA, instead of defaulting to
the analog ;)
Kris: thanks for responding so quickly! What I get from the above command
is:
FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm: 32bit 2009061500/i386)
Installed devices:
pcm0: <Intel ICH4 (82801DB)> at io 0xfebff800, 0xfebff400 irq 17 bufsz
16384 kld snd_ich [MPSAFE] (1p:4v/1r:4v channels duplex default)
Let me know what else I can do, and thanks.
By the way, other than this issue, this release is much smoother and
quicker, and KDE isn't
so buggy. Much better!
