 That is odd, did you do an upgrade from 8.0-RC or a fresh install? If you
 open "konsole", type in "echo $LANG" what is it set to?

 Also, try closing the tray, and running from konsole:

 /PCBSD/SystemUpdater/bin/SystemUpdaterTray

 Does it echo "Locale: " something?
