#239: Two inconsistent hostname entries in /etc/rc.conf
------------------------------+---------------------------------------------
Reporter: bitraptor | Owner:
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: minor | Milestone:
Component: Installer | Version: 8.0-RC
Keywords: rc.conf hostname |
------------------------------+---------------------------------------------
Fresh install leaving two inconsistent hostname entries in /etc/rc.conf:
hostname="pcbsd" at beginning of file, hostname="pcbsd-nnnn" (nnnn some
number) at the end of file under "#Auto enabled NICs from pc-sysinstall".
/etc/hosts uses pcbsd-nnnn[[BR]]
This situation leads to a parsing error of pf.conf resulting in packet
filter not beeing able to load the rules[[BR]]
p.s. before committing the install I went back some steps to modify a
setting, don't know whether the problem also arises when going straight
through
