Comment:

 A fresh install on the same computer/disk/slice does not have this
 problem[[BR]]
 Probably nevertheless an updater issue, leaving nvidia-driver/compat in an
 inconsistent state.
 manual pkg_delete and make install clean of nvidia-driver did not solve
 the problem either.
