The problem referenced in Ticket #339 is likely limited to VirtualBox
installs.  VirtualBox does not use the same IP address, netmask, or gateway
as the host machine.  Whereas the host machine uses the hardware router's
gateway address and subnet mask and the IP assigned by DHCP (or a given
static IP), the virtual machine creates a totally different network IP,
gateway, and subnet.  My guess is that the user may be attempting to
configure the virtual machine with the host machine's settings.
