<div dir="ltr">No i did not encounter any crashes or forcefully killed the system, but i though encountered errors like the one below from System Packages installer but seemed installed the meta-pkg.<div><br></div><div><div>

Ok, I did some checking and it looks like those dirs are created by
the pkg_add command in FreeBSD, which is used by the meta-pkg
manager. Usually they are supposed to be cleaned up after pkg_add
finishes. Have you had any cases where the system crashed, or you
manually killed the system package manager?<div><div></div><div><br>

When did these files come back? I.E. did you rm
-rf /var/tmp/instmp.*<br>
and reboot? At what point did they show up
again? Have you tweaked or<br>
