<P>I installed 8a yesterday. The first attempt I selected all the available PBIs by holding down the control key, selecting each one, then clicking the right arrow button. It seemed to work, but the installer crashed when I finally gave it the go ahead to proceed. An error message asked if I wanted to e-mail the error log. Before I could finish typing in my own e-mail address, the system rebooted.<BR>
</P><P>I reinstalled 8a, selecting all PBIs one-at-a-time. No further problems noted. Tried to install the Opera PBI, but it didn't work, so I installed the ports version. All was OK.</P><P>Only irritating problem was the clock. My hardware clock is set correctly to Los Angeles time, but like Debian and other Linux variations, the desktop time for PCBSD is incorrect even though the time is supposed to checked via the internet.</P><P>I used Open Officeto write a short letter, and printed it after setting up CUPS. All was well until I let X time out to a black screen. The system was dead on arrival after that. I had to press the reset.</P><P>Sid Stautzenberger</P> </HTML>
