[PC-BSD Testing] gnome 3 :(

Auto start for gnome has to be turned on in 
.config/autostart/gnome-settings-daemon.desktop line 9.  I see mate has 
a separate entry which doesn't seem to hurt mate.  Should I make the 
change or is there a reason it should be off for Gnome that affects 
other things?
