[PC-BSD Testing] PCBSD 9.1 (rolling) release - certain files/binaries (eg ssh, sshd) gone.

Dear all,

recently certain files/binaries have vanished from my PCBSD 9.1 release
system. Before that, a PCBSD security update had failed a couple of times.
Unfortunately, I have been playing around with the PCBSD tools and
switching back and forth between current and branches/9.1.
For this reason, I am not sure what the PATCHSET at the time of the
failed update had been, but I believe it was "PATCHSET: updates"

make buildworld also fails with the output of:
make: don't know how to make /usr/lib/libc.a. Stop
*** [bootstrap-tools] Error code 2
Stop in /usr/src.
*** [_bootstrap-tools] Error code 1
Stop in /usr/src.
*** [buildworld] Error code 1
Stop in /usr/src.

I had to boot into an old kernel, since the current one would not boot
any more, the output of uname is:
FreeBSD 9.1-RELEASE FreeBSD 9.1-RELEASE #2 r243864: Tue Dec 4 19:40:42
GMT 2012 /usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC amd64

The output of pc-updatemanager is:
Getting regional mirror...
Using mirror: ftp://ftp.pcbsd.org/pub/mirror
No updates available for 9.1-RELEASE!

The outputs of /usr/bin and /usr/sbin as well as the sysupdate.conf file
have been attached.

I was suggested to extract base.txz to fix the problem of the missing
files and then maybe rebuild the world? - However, I am open for any
other/better solution.

Kind regards,
Olaf

# Configuration settings for PC-BSD Updater Service
# Change with care! Messing with this may break your updates!

# Set this variable to the server you wish to pull system updates from
# Needs to be a "fetchable" HTTP or FTP URL
UPDATESERVER: http://updates.pcbsd.org

# The patch set you wish to pull, normally "updates" or "test-updates"
PATCHSET: updates

# Patch data will be pulled down as a .upd file, which contains upgrade
# information for PC-BSD
#
# EXAMPLE:
#
# If UPDATESERVER is http://updates.pcbsd.org and PATCHSET is update
# then the download URL would look something like this:
#
# http://updates.pcbsd.org/update.upd
