[PC-BSD Testing] 9.1R xorg trouble on a ThinkPad 420

I did a re-install and now get a black screen with a blue bar at the 
bottom with < Workspace 1 > and a clock on the right. I can get into 
other virtual consoles. Disabling OS selection of the video device did 
not help.
