[PC-BSD Testing] Missed CDN Switch: Updates no longer possible?

I am watching this thread, hoping that it applies to my system as well, a
non-rolling release, but alas!

1. Is there a way to change a non-rolling release to a rolling release
without reinstallation?
2. Is it possible for a non-rolling release to use the CDN for
upgrades/updates?
