[PC-BSD Testing] 9.1-BETA1 - PC-BSD Installer fails for FreeBSD Server w/ZFS

Desktop Selection: FreeBSD Server
FileSystem       : ZFS (default configuration)

installation fails at "Extracting system image..." with the following at the tail end of the log:

    pc-sysinstall: Starting Extraction
    EXITERROR: ERROR: Failed extracting the tar image


 * confirmed in esxi virtual machine and physical hardware. 
 * both PCBSD9.1-BETA1-x64-DVD.iso and PCBSD9.1-BETA1-x64-USBFULL.img are affected. 
 * the TrueOS/ZFS selection is NOT AFFECTED.
 * UFS installation is NOT AFFECTED.




also in the pc-sysinstall.log: 
    Component src doesn't seem to exist
    Component ports doesn't seem to exist

so of course /usr/src and /usr/ports are both empty, despite my having checked both boxes during installation ... should i submit this in a separate report?
