I did, with good success. You'll want a backup of your data (just in case). Note that just building the drivers is not enough, you will also have to rebuild world and the kernel. If you decide to try it, copy the /PCBSD/conf/PCBSD configuration file to the location mentioned in the FreeBSD Handbook, make your changes to that file, and specify that file in your buildkernel and installkernel commands (http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/kernelconfig-building.html). Note that the Handbook does not mention the 64 bit location (ls /usr/src/sys/amd64/conf/)--use that path instead if your system is 64 bit.
