Chris,

I had to install devel/autotools (Thanks to Dru).

What happened is that I installed PC-BSD option instead of FreeBSD option,
then I dived under the GUI to start installing apps that would make my box a
server.
I think this is the mistake. With FreeBSD (native) I have always installed
apps, but never had to manually install devel/autotools at all. I believe
somehow one of the installation processed just sucked it in and so I did not
realize when these got installed.
Still, I think maybe PC-BSD should have them installed, somehow, for the
overzealous/crazy guys who think every Unix box can just be a server at
whims:-)
