[PC-BSD Testing] Upgrade to 8.1 fails

I tried to update my 8.0 system to 8.1 but it consistently reboots in the middle.

I'm using the CD image for boot only - internet install.

Everything was fine until it started removing packages.  When removing linux-f10-atk-1.240 it hangs for 10 seconds and then reboots.  Can't boot back into the old system now either - it's hosed.

Can I resurrect this somehow or am I forced to start over?
