I also run dual-head with nvidia, and see the exact same problem. I'm 
pretty sure its a bug in kde4, since kde3 never had this issue. I'm 
going to try and bring it up with the KDE devs at the conference next 
weekend, maybe we can get it fixed :)

I've already tracked down and fixed the crash issue with the tray app, 
it should be corrected in 8.0-RC ;)
