I just installed the 386 version of the beta and already this OS is 
SERIOUSLY impressive! Compiz working out of the box just like my first 
stint with PCBSD 1.5.1 (good old days).

Samba loaded up quickly and I was able to restore my thunderbird mail 
profile in time to post to the mailing list. I shall be testing now ;).
