I believe that has to do with some drivers changes, but can you please try
this from terminal:
>su
#ee /boot/loader.conf
--change kern.hz from 100 to 200
--restart the computer
If you still have issues, try to increase that value up to 1000 (I believe
1000 is the default value). Changing this value would make your OS feel
slower, but it may stabilize it.
I read someplace that the new 8.0 will have that value defaulting to 10.
