[PC-BSD Testing] Problem installing 7.01 to HP xw8200 workstation

Hello all --

I am having trouble installing PCBSD 7.01 on an HP xw8200 with dual
Xeon 3.4GHz, 4GB ECC Memory, 146 Gb SCSI U320 HDD, nVidia Quadro
FX3400 256MB Dual DVI Head Graphics card.  I am running only a single
monitor.  BIOS is updated to most current version.   My problem is the
installation hangs indefinitely after the PCBSD Welcome page. However,
I do have PCBSD 7.01 running on an identical xw8200.  I also have
PCBSD 7.0.1 running on an HP ML-370 dual Intel P-III with a 6-disk
SCSI RAID Array and several other HP P-4's without any problem, but
none of them (except the twin xw8200) have the high performance
graphics card.

 I am wondering:

(a) do I have a hardware recognition problem because of the dual
processors, the nVidia card or the SCSI devices;
(b) do I have a PCBSD/FreeBSD driver problem;
(c) if I do, why does an identical computer run PCBSD 7.01 while this
one does not; and
(d) why does this computer run under NetBSD and XP but not PCBSD 7.01.
(e) would I need some special "setup" disk the same way that an HP
ML-type servers require configuration with SmartStart to run either XP
or Linux/Unix before installing the operating system.  (Note:  HP does
require an installation disk if one is installing RedHat Linux).


Here are some of the sordid details (and I apologize in advance for
the long post):

After booting from a known good cd, the boot loader starts and brings
me to the PCBSD Welcome screen.  The countdown clock does not count
down but hangs at "10".  It does not progress to the default install,
but I can select an installation option manually.  I have tried the
install options for (1) default, (2) no ACPI, (3) Safe, (4) Single,
(6) Emergency and (7) VESA, all of which start the install but hang
almost immediately.  The only messages to appear are the copyright
notice and the name and date of the release:

Ordinarily, the next hardware probe would be for the Timecounter and
CPU detection.

If you wait about twenty-four to thirty-six hours, it will make a
little progress through the stages but never reaches the GUI
installer.  After two days it reached the part of the dmesg where it
started to recognize the SCSI disks.

I have searched the HP web site and Googled the internet for any
information about the FreeBSD/xw8200 combination.  There is nothing.

I am fortunate to have an identical twin of the xw8200 on which I am
running PCBSD 7.01.  (For it, I simply removed a hard disk from an
existing PCBSD 7.01 system and placed it in the xw8200 and booted.

I have tried installing with the several modes reported above.  I have
tried booting using PCBSD 1.5.1 and OpenBSD without success, both of
which hung at the same  place. But I can boot NetBSD Live . . . (and
