OK, I fetched the ports tonight and installed Firefox and another  
program both of which worked fine. So far I have had no stability  
problems. One minor issue: the task bar at the bottom sometimes  
disappears for a second or two and then reappears. I think it is  
happening mostly, if not entirely, when I have the system busy doing  
other things. I will try and get a better handle on it over the next  
few days.
