As some of you have already noticed, there is indeed a new alpha
available on our FTP site:
ftp://ftp.pcbsd.org/pub/alpha-isos/i386/
MD5 (PCBSD7-x86-07182008-CD1.iso) = 899528ea0a0b132a700fc26f3e2c6d42
MD5 (PCBSD7-x86-07182008-CD2.iso) = 573a922cc80ec29ed23eeaba9b658d42
MD5 (PCBSD7-x86-07182008-CD3.iso) = 377770de260c21bd1a614e6e70214a9a
MD5 (PCBSD7-x86-07182008-DVD.iso) = ca7e3b134e0cc8c8862609fb5001587e
This new release uses KDE 4.1RC1, and also addresses may problems
encountered over the past weeks. Konsole finally works now as well. This
release is *English* only, since the KDE4 i18n stuff hasn't been
finished up just yet, and probably wont be until 4.1 is released at the
end of the month.
Also, you may download PBIs for this release from here for testing:
http://pbibuild.pcbsd.org/index.php?sort=date&ver=7
I've also implemented some different sound-detection methods, so if you
get a error about an unidentified sound card, please generate the
diagnostic sheet and send it back via this list. Also, if you encounter
errors in the KDE desktop itself, please feel free to check the KDE bug
database:
http://bugs.kde.org/
Thanks for the help with debugging this Alpha! We at PC-BSD really
appreciate all your time and effort spent on this!
