The startup sound is enabled still, but for some reason KDE4 doesn't
play it all the time :P
If you go to System Settings -> Notifications and choose Event Source
"KDE System Notifications", then look at "Login" you'll see the sound
file is still there.
BTW, I think I found a bug report for this here:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=164748
If you have a bugs.kde.org account, please feel free to vote for this
issue so we can get a KDE developer to take a look at it :)
