[PC-BSD Support] permissions problem

I'm having some problems with certain desktop(KDE) items to stick after 
restarting.  Example would be my screen resolution, it keeps reverting 
back to 1024x768 after restarting.  I go back into system settings and 
just double click display and my desktop auto fixes itself back to my 
normal resolution.  Several other things don't seem to save either.  All 
of my .kde and .kde4 are owned by my username.  What am I missing?
