[PC-BSD Support] change resolution before install

Hi Guys
 
I have installed PC-BSD with no problem when I reboot that's the problem. After reboot what resolution is the default, also how can I change it my monitor is just blank with the message out of range.
I think I need to change the settings in xorg.conf but do not know how to use a editor from console, I'm a newbie.
Please could some one help me.
