A security update for PC-BSD 7.1.1 has been released today. This update
fixes a potential privilege escalation attack with
devfs / vfs in the default kernel.
This security update effects users of both i386 and amd64 versions of
PC-BSD.
To install the update, simply log into your desktop, and run:
Start -> System Settings -> Software & Updates -> Run in Administrator Mode
Once the Online Update Manager is running, select the "Security update -
devfs" patch, and click "Install selected updates". After the update has
finished downloading / installing, you will need to reboot the system to
complete the process.
For more details about the specifics of this vulnerability, please refer
to FreeBSD SA 09-14.devfs
<http://security.freebsd.org/advisories/FreeBSD-SA-09:14.devfs.asc>.
So if your run freebsd also must update this patch for security reason.
