XPenguins is a program for animating cute cartoons/animals in your root
window. By default it will be penguins - they fall from the top of the
screen, walk along the top of windows, up the side of windows and do
various other stuff. Other themes in the base package are "Classic
Penguins", reproducing XPenguins version 1.2, and "Turtles". More
themes can be downloaded from the XPenguins web site.

I have downloaded and installed all themes.

xdesktopwaves is a cellular automata setting the background
of your X Window System under water. Windows and mouse are
like ships on the sea. Each movement of these ends up in
moving water waves. You can even have rain and/or storm
stirring up the water.

There are lots of programs for lots of platforms to make fish swim in
the background of your screen. This is a modification of an old one
called xfish (also called Xaquarium), that I have added more features

This is a time/date applet for Window Maker (and BlackBox, E,
SawFish...). Top part has the clock face, bottom part has day of the
week, followed by day, followed by month. Yellow hand counts seconds,
green hand counts minutes, red hand counts hours. Few seconds after
startup there are at least 32 bubbles floating up behind the clock
face. There are 4 fishes randomly swimming back and forth. If you move
your mouse inside the DockApp window, the fish will get scared and run

Bubbling Load Monitor
Bubblemon displays something that looks like a vial containing water.
The water level indicates how much memory is in use. The color of the
liquid indicates how much swap space is used (watery blue means none
and angry red means all). The system CPU load is indicated by bubbles
floating up through the liquid; lots of bubbles means high CPU load.

Eagle Mode is an advanced solution for a futuristic style of man-machine
communication, in which the user can visit almost everything simply by
zooming in. It has a professional file manager, file viewers and
players for most of the common file types, a chess game, a 3D mines
game, a multi-function clock and some fractal fun, all integrated in a
virtual cosmos. By featuring a separate popup-zoomed control view, help
texts in the things they are describing, editable bookmarks, multiple
input methods, fast anti-aliased graphics, a virtually unlimited depth
of panel tree, and by its portable C++ API, Eagle Mode aims to be a
cutting edge of zoomable user interfaces.
